About a month ago, we visited one of my very best friends who lives about an hour and a half away. We sat in their home and chatted with them and I shared with her something that has troubled me for quite some time, something that Satan was having a field day with and seemed to be completely out of my control. At the end of our visit, I asked if she'd pray with us about the problem. Then, a few weeks ago, I asked another precious friend if she would pray for me.

Y'all, I get prayer requests from folks quite often, but because of my pride, I fail to ask for prayer for myself. I feel like I should be able to handle things on my own and fix my own problems and what in the world would people think of me if I told them what's going on in my life. How arrogant of me!

I'm sharing this to tell you that you should NEVER hesitate to share with a trusted friend what's on your heart. Be transparent with them, let them know that you're weak and in need of help because.....

God still works miracles and I'm seeing first hand His redemptive power in my own life!

  1. He is...

    Prayer works.

And, you know, sometimes a little lie tries to get in there...do we let them in? And if it does it wrecks havoc, until we give it to God and ask Him what's up. One Word from Him and we can see again.

  2. Yes, God is good and He's always faithful. I don't know what I would do without being able to ask my friends to pray for me when needed. They have prayed me through some pretty tough stuff over the years and I try to do the same for them.

  3. Deb, never have more true words been spoken. I get it! I am so quick to tell others...I will pray for you. But not so quick to ask others to pray for me. PRIDEFUL! That is what I call it. Sometimes I feel that everyone has their plates so full that they don't need my prayer need before then. But I also know that is Satan a lot of times because I have found for myself that when I am praying for others, doing for others, it takes my mind off ME and focuses it where it needs to be. Loved this today. Hugs and blessings, P.S. Thanks for reminding me that it's okay to ask others to pray for me. Love you!

  4. Oh yes! Our God is an awesome God...and He is STILL in the miracle business! We should never be afraid or ashamed to ask for prayer for God's intervention in our lives. Certainly, we should take it to Jesus first, but: Matthew 18:19 (NKJV) says:
19 “Again[a] I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." Enough Said! :)

I am glad you have friends praying for you now. I will add my prayers as well :).
