Passion

If you look up the word "passion" (Merriam-Webster On-Line Dictionary), you'll find several definitions. Here's an example:

(1) The sufferings of Christ between the night of the Last Supper and his death.
(2) Ardent affection...or love.

I was surprised to find the first definition, but that was what even prompted me to look up the word.....The Passion of The Christ. I am ashamed to say that I have never watched this movie in its entirety. I have watched bits and pieces, and I find myself bawling the entire time. When I watched the video, I kept thinking to myself, "why?"....I was wondering "why would He do that for me?"...but I also wonder "why would they do that to Him?". Do you realize that we are included in "they"? Even though I was born many years later...it was still my sins that helped nail Him to the cross. If you've watched The Passion of The Christ, or just parts of it, like me....then you see how our precious Savior was treated. I can't bear to watch it...I can't bear to see how you barely even recognize Him after He was beaten....for me....I can't bear to see them drive those nails into His hands and feet and the pain that He endured....for me...I can't bear to see how His mother suffered watching what they were doing to her Son...for me. I can't bear to see those mocking Him...but, He took it all...for me...and He even loved those who were mistreating Him. And, like I've heard it said...if I had been the only sinner, He would have done it just for me!!!

Our precious Jesus....He suffered between the Last Supper until His death....He has warm affection and love for me. I will never, ever have to suffer for Him like He did for me...but, oh, how I love Him!!!

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. Acts 1:3 (KJV)

In His love...and with mine!!!
