Sew His Word!!!

How many of you sew???? I love to sew. I started sewing when I was probably in my early teens. I can still remember the first thing that I made. It was out of some scrap material that my uncle got where he worked. My cousin and I both made a "romper"....you know those things that were sort of a jump suit, but was shorter...came to about your knees. Anyway.....they were popular in my day!! Because of what my Mom had taught me, mine turned out pretty good. By the way, I will never, ever be the seamstress that she is...she is amazing!!!! The second thing I remember making was a pink dress. My Daddy was so proud of that dress. All of this was made on an old treadle machine that still sits in my foyer that belonged to my Mamaw. I sewed on that machine for years and even made a lot of Jess' frilly dresses when she was little on that old treadle machine. Oh, the memories!!!
"What in the world does this have to do with anything at all" you're probably asking yourself!!! Out of curiosity I just wondered how many references I could find in the Bible that had to do with sewing. I love www.biblegateway.com. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't look up something on that web-site!!!
Here are some of the verses that I discovered:
Genesis 3:7 (NLT)
At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
I love this one....using a reference to sewing as to what God does with our sins:
Job 14:17 (KJV)
My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
Ecclesiastes 3:7 (NKJV)
A time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.
Don't you just love running Bible references...especially if it's something that applies to you personally. So...find a topic...maybe something that you enjoy doing...and see what you can find in the Bible about it!!!
You might be surprised at what you can come up with.
In His love....and with mine!!!
