Throw it to Jesus.....

A friend of mine sent me an e-mail yesterday with several Christian "cartoons". This one really spoke to me.
Out of curiosity, I looked up the word "cast". I've always thought that this verse meant to just give your problems to Jesus...but here is the definition:
"To send or drive by force; to throw; to fling; to hurl; to impel"

WOW!!! According to this definition, it doesn't mean to just gently had it over. We're supposed to throw off our cares...fling them away...drive them out of our minds and hearts by force!!! The "force" that we use can be in the way of prayer...fasting...sharing a problem with a friend and being in prayer with each other for our problem...we need to use whatever "force" available to allow Jesus to take over our cares and concerns and that we leave it with Him to handle. I've heard this said a couple of times lately....that God is a gentleman...He won't "force" Himself upon us...but, He's always there when we need Him.
I want to share this with you. This past Sunday morning, I was so burdened about Mamaw. My Mom had called and let me know that she wasn't doing well and she was going to have to go to the hospital. For years....many years....I never prayed out loud in front of Pap...now, isn't that silly?!?!? He's my help, my soul-mate...we are one, according to scripture. So, I just started praying out loud and telling God my concerns and Pap started praying, too. I "cast" my care upon Jesus. I can't even explain the peace that I felt. I was able to go on to church...in the past I would have just stayed home and cried and been sad and upset. I was able to worship and sing and know that no matter what happened....God was in control....I had given my care and concern to Him, and He in turn had blessed me with the peace that only He can give...the peace that we can't even understand.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
How many of us try to carry our burdens alone, even though we know we don't have
to? Sometimes we wait until we have a major problem to turn it over to the Lord, but He says....
"cast ALL your care"....
He doesn't say just the big troubles!!
So, if you're like me and you sometimes try to struggle alone...think about this little cartoon when you get burdened down with a load of
"care", "worry", "problems", or a "need"!!!

I want to thank my friend for sending this to me. I had meant for this to just be a simple little post with just the cartoon...but God wanted more. Once I started writing, things kept coming to mind, and since my mind is so, so simple...the thoughts have to be from Him.

I praise you, Precious Lord. I thank you for my salvation. I thank you for Your grace and mercy that are fresh and new for me every single morning. I thank You for every special person who sees fit to read the things that You place on my heart and in my mind to write. Only You, God...these things can only come from You!!!
In Jesus Blessed and Holy Name I pray this...AMEN!!!
In His Love...and with mine!!!
