Precious Memories......

Last night, I sat down and wrote my blog post for this coming Monday.....I don't want to give it away, but it sure did bring back some memories.
Well....Pap and I have been digging out some Christmas decorations the past few days....and this is one of my favorites. This nativity is from Home Interiors....we bought it when we first got married in 1977. I used to work with a lady who was a consultant. The big angel in the top is Home Interiors, also...but the little angel "choir" were given to me several years ago by my sweet nephew!!!
One of my favorite things about this set is the stable. It's made out of "barn wood" paneling that Pap got from his brother-in-law and he built the stable for me....Pap built it all by himself.....our very first Christmas together.

Another nativity....this one came from Service Merchandise....remember that store???....do you miss it as much as I do....remember when you would order something, you would go to the back of the store to customer pick-up and watch it come down the rollers???
Well...one reason this one means so much is this....when my Dad passed away, Pap's Mom and his brothers and sisters gave us some money, instead of sending flowers. This was one thing that we bought (I'll show what else another time). I really like it because it is just so unique. It's not your "normal" nativity. Don't you just love the wise men riding on horses and a camel and an elephant???

And, and, and.....let me tell you the story behind the candle holder in the back.
Pap and his brothers and sisters have been dividing some of Ms. Ruby's things. For about as long as I can remember, she had that candle holder on the coffee table in the basement. We got it and I took out the white candle holders and all the white and green decorations and knew I either wanted red, or amber, votive cups. Last Sunday afternoon, I looked up votive cups on e-bay and that set of amber ones were going off in 4 minutes....and there were 5 of them, just what I needed....and I got them for $4.25...plus shipping!! Whoopee!!!! I got the candle rings and the picks at Dollar tree, and the ribbon was a Wally World mark-down from Thanksgiving!!!
I wish I had taken a "before" picture so you could tell the difference.
Anybody needing 4 (it was missing one) white votive cups????

I hope this Christmas season is bringing back sweet memories
for each of you, too!!

In His Love...and with mine!!!
