Sunday Morning Song - Without Him

I've had the song "Without Him" on my mind a lot this week. I mentioned it in an e-mail to my buddy, and even said I might do a blog about it....well, that might happen, if God directs, but for now I want to use it as my "Sunday Morning Song". I think I understand now why God put this song in my heart and on my mind so much this week. When I did some research on the writer of the song, I found an amazing biography about him. His name is Mylon R. LeFevre, and if you will click on his name, it will take you to the site that tells all about him. He has an amazing testimony, and as you read about him, you'll recognize a lot of the big name bands that he toured with (well, you will if you're around my age and grew up listening to rock and roll!!!). Plus, his son-in-law, Peter Furler, is a member of the group, Newsboys. See how much I learned doing this research!!!!
Here are the lyrics to this amazing song, the first song he ever wrote. It was recorded by Elvis Presley in the 60's. If you read his biography, you'll see how this song truly became a testimony of the rough life he led....but how he was drawn back to his precious Savior!!!!
Without Him
Without Him I could do nothing.
Without Him I'd surely fail.
Without Him I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail.
Without Him I would be dying.
Without Him I'd be enslaved.
Without Him life would be worthless.
But with Jesus thank God I'm saved.
Oh Jesus, oh Jesus!
Do you know Him today?
Please don't turn Him away.
Oh Jesus, oh Jesus!
Without Him how lost I would be.
Without Him how lost I would be.

In His Love...and with mine!!!

  1. Wonderful to find out where a song comes from. God knew what He was going to do in Mylons life and how the song would be a life he lived. And it's true the things we do in our lives "Without Him" This is one of my favorite songs to sing during the invitation.
