What was your Easter like???
What did you do yesterday to celebrate our risen Savior???
Did you go to church and listen to the "Easter story"?
We got up at 5:30 yesterday morning and got ready so we could make it to the Easter "Son-rise" Service at 7:00!!!
It was W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L!!!!
I heard that there were between 80 and 100 people there....huddled together.....in the cold.....as the sun broke thru "the eastern sky"!!!
Pastor brought a sweet message about the meaning of the day.
It brought my heart such joy to hear his message and to realize...once again...why we were even celebrating!!!
Yes....Jesus is the Reason for the Season....
FOR ALL SEASONS!!!!!

But...let's not let the story end with Easter Sunday!
Last week we studied and read and reacquainted ourselves with what Jesus did each day leading up to his death on the cross.....
but, more importantly, His resurrection!!!
Let's take a brief look at the next 40 days and see what happened!!!
Have you ever known somebody who just wouldn't believe a thing you told them???
They had to see it, touch it, taste it....for themselves.....and didn't want to take anybody else's word for it!!
(Ladies, right about here, you're probably thinking that this sounds EXACTLY like your hubby!!!)
I think most of us are like that to a certain extent, huh??? Well....Thomas was the very same way.
And...as you all know...that's where we get the term
"doubting Thomas"!!!
John 20:24-29 (KJV)
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace be unto you". Then saith he to Thomas, "Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing". And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God. Jesus saith unto him, "Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed".
I love that last part....
"blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed".
Do you know who Jesus was referring to????
He was talking about us....and all the future generations from that time forward who would believe on Him....who would confess Him as their Lord and Savior....we are those "blessed" ones Jesus told Thomas about!!!!I'll be the first to admit....I sometimes have doubts and fears and troubles and problems. Who of us don't????
But, my doubts are mostly self-doubt and have nothing to do with my believing, or my salvation.
(and I know....I CAN DO ALL THINGS THRU CHRIST WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH!!!)
Just because I wasn't there when all these events took place...certainly doesn't mean that I doubt them happening.
I trust my Bible....I trust the words written in it that were inspired by God Himself!!!
I used this phrase just the other day:
I'm glad that I know that I know that I know....
that Jesus died for me....and that I AM SAVED!!!!
Hallelujah!!!
(more about this 40 day journey tomorrow!!!)
In His Love...and with mine!!!
(p.s...I had most of my research already done for this post before the evening service. Our youth pastor spoke on this very thing....doubting Thomas and "blessed are those who have not seen". Was I surprised??? Nope. That's our God....pointing something out to me twice so that I'll listen up and take notice!!!)
