Why....it's Pappy and me!!!!
Since we got married in the "seventies"...I thought the flowers and colors were appropriate for my header for today!!!!
We used a "blue" theme....my flowers were attached to the top of a white Bible that my Daddy bought me many years ago.
(and Jess used the same Bible in her wedding, too!!!)
Now...here's the little story behind our "wedding"!
Pappy is a bit shy until you get to know him....and doesn't like a lot of hoop-la!!! We had originally decided to get married on April 29th...but....other people started stepping in and making plans for us that we just didn't think we could afford, or even want....so.....we changed the date to the 22nd....and....Pappy didn't tell his parents until a couple of hours before we were to get married!!!
(his idea, not mine, if any of his family is reading this!!!)
The only people invited were my friend who played the piano
(Ms. Pat!!) my parents and my brother....and Pappy's parents and his two brothers who were still living at home at the time....and the preacher and his wife and their kids!!!
And....that was it!!
My Mom made my dress...which i still have...and, no I cannot even begin to fit in it!!!
But....big hoopla wedding, or just a small ceremony with family....we're still married just the same....and have been together 32 years as man and wife!!
"Man and wife"...
isn't that what God intended for marriage to be...
between a man and a woman???
Matthew 19:4-6 (KJV)
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
I can't let this opportunity pass by without mentioning something that I'm sure most all of you have already heard about....
Miss California....and the fact that she lost the Miss America pageant probably because of her stand on gay marriage.
I've included the video of her interview by Matt Laurer on
The Today Show.
What she said that just made me want to shout was....she wasn't worried about her answer being politically correct....she wanted it to be Biblically correct!!!
You go, Girl!!!
I am sooooo proud of you...and so proud that you stood up for what's right....and that you took a stand for your...our...God!!!

Also thanks for putting that video on your blog, I missed it because of work and we as Christians need to stand for Him. She was given that question by God to see if she would stand firm for Him and she did in front of "all America". Thank you Miss California for standing for our Savior!
You look beautiful as a young bride and Jack look handsome. Congratulation on 32 years, I hope to see this again on the big 50!
