P-R-I-D-E

Acrostics...remember how I love 'em?!?!?!
Well...here's one that I came up with for the word PRIDE:
Precious time wasted...

Relishing in my own self-centeredness…when…

In fact I can do absolutely nothing without...

Divine intervention-allowing our Heavenly Father help me get rid of…

Envy…jealousy…bitterness…..etc.!!
Several things I've read and heard lately have been on the subject of pride.....I'm not talking about the type of pride that we should take in ourselves...in our appearance....or being proud of our families, or our country, or those precious grandsons who are my "pride and joy".....I'm talking about the pride that one definition describes as: a high opinion of one's self-worth!!!

PRIDE....can rob you of enjoying your life

PRIDE.....can cause you to think more highly of yourself than you should

PRIDE.....can keep you from saying "I'm sorry"...when you really need to do just that to make things right with somebody else
PRIDE.....can keep you from admitting that you were wrong about something...and somebody else was right....and giving them credit
PRIDE....can totally ruin friendships
PRIDE....can make you miserable
PRIDE....can destroy a marriage
PRIDE....can hinder us from having a closer walk with Jesus
BECAUSE.....
....if we're too prideful....then we're going to give ourselves all the credit....instead of allowing Him to have the glory that He deserves!!!
If we're going to be PROUD....be PROUD of Jesus....of what He did for us when He came and bore our sins and died on the cross...so that we can LIVE!!!
Proverbs 29:23 (NLT)
Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor.
In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
