Sign, sign, everywhere a sign.....

.....blocking out the scenery, breaking my mind.

Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?

I'm gonna talk about a different kind of "sign"....but the words to that song came to mind and I just couldn't help myself!!!

Except....the "breaking my mind" part might apply to this kind of "sign".

If you have a decision to make....do you sometimes pray and ask God for a sign as to what His answer is?  Do you worry and struggle....even when you get His answer?  Do you toss and turn and loose sleep because you can't get whatever the problem is off your mind?!?!?
 

 I feel as we get older....and we've lived more and relied on God and seen the things that He's done in our lives....then, we know when He's speaking to us.  Often the only "sign" we need is the prompting....prodding....of His Holy Spirit!!!
Sometimes I don't listen, though....I keep wondering and pondering and asking Him to give me another sign....when all along I know what He's telling me to do....or not do!!!

Why do we do that to ourselves? 
Why don't we just go ahead and do what He's asking? 
Because, like I told you about us changing churches....it often takes out of our comfort zone.  It's easier just to keep on doing the same old thing than it is to do what's right.  I know that sounds crazy...but that's how us humans can be.  Don't you just know that God sometimes shakes His head in amazement and wonders why in the world He made the decision to create....PEOPLE?!?!?!?!

And...speaking of people....we really haven't changed that much since God made man....and woman.  Moses asked God for signs that the children of Israel would really believe that God had sent him as their leader.   Then, there was Gideon....he asked God for a sign....not once but twice....asking for the fleece to be wet....then, he asked that God not get angry, but could He make the fleece be dry (we're never satisfied, are we?).   Judas even used a "sign" when he betrayed Jesus...with a kiss!!!

 I think that for us today....most of the time....the only "sign" we need....is like I already mentioned....just that prompting of the Holy Spirit....and allowing Him to speak to us....thru His Holy Word!!!

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

God....my source of HOPE (my favorite word)!!!
And....I know from experience....the only time I'm filled completely with joy and peace....is when I've trusted in Him to help me make the right choices.
It's those times that I've listened to His Holy Spirit speak to me....but I've not just listened....
....I've obeyed!!!
