Women of the Bible - Jezebel

Jezebel was the wife of Ahab, King of Israel.  She was known as a "tyrant" because she corrupted not only her husband, but the entire nation by encouraging worship of pagan idols.  She was certainly the power behind the throne and King Ahab was obedient to exactly what she wanted, even building a sanctuary for the idol, Baal.  When the prophets of Jehovah opposed Jezebel, she had them massacred.  After Elijah defeated her prophets on Mt. Carmel, she swore revenge.  She was so fearsome that Elijah ran for his life.  After Ahab was killed in  battle, Jezebel reigned for ten years through her sons, who were killed by Jehu.  Jehu also had Jezebel killed by having her thrown from a palace window.  She was then trampled by horses and eaten by the dogs, leaving only her skull, feet and the palms of her hands.

Conclusion:
 The story of Jezebel reminds me of the phrase
"what goes around comes around".
One should never think that they can do wrong and get by....even if they try to be sly about it and think that others will never know, or catch on.
The main thing is....GOD KNOWS!!

Romans 12:19
Dear friends, never take revenge.
Leave that to the righteous anger of God.
For the scriptures say,
   “I will take revenge;
      I will pay them back,”
      says the Lord.
