Speaking...and seeking....TRUTH!!!

First of all....thanks to all of you for your sweet comments, thoughts and prayers.  I'm not 100%, but am getting there.  Still having some tummy issues, but decided to self-medicate and talked to the druggist about probiotics...so my plan is to take them for a month to get straightened out!!!

Since I did the post the other day about being a sinner saved by grace....I've had the word "truth" on my mind.  Then today, I read a post by my sweet blogging friend, Ms. Hillary @ Hilbob's Attic.  She mentioned something that she had heard on the K-Love radio station....

".....they were mentioning about taking one word and letting that be your thinking on, planning on, reminder word for the upcoming year. Instead of a resolution, do that- pick a word that will focus your attention or draw you."

As y'all know, if you've followed me here for very long...."HOPE" is my favorite word in the world....and will continue to be.  But my word for 2012 that I will meditate on and think about and plan on....my "reminder word", as Ms. Hillary described it....will be "TRUTH".  I don't make resolutions....haven't in a very long time because they're usually broken in no time flat!

So....I'm asking all of you to join me.....what will your "signature word" be for 2012?  Leave me a comment and let me know....and why you chose that word.  What scripture are you claiming to go along with your word?  I can see future posts about sharing our "word" and the impact it's had on our daily walk with HIM....how it's come up in scripture time and time again....how we're able to share our "word" and HIS Word...with others!!!  I think this is a wonderful idea, and since I didn't hear it on the radio station....I thank Ms. Hillary for sharing it with us!!!  If you get a chance, go visit her, and share your word with her, too!!!

Here are my verses that I'm going to cling to in 2012....and yes, they just happen to contain the word "HOPE", too!!!
;-)

Psalm 25:4-5
Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.

Happy New Year, Sweet Readers!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. My special word / key word for 2012 will be 'trust'.
In my life are significant uncertainties concerning health, family circumstances. Trust will be the key word.

    I enjoy your blog.

  2. I have been praying about this and have decided that my word for 2012 will be Strength. I want to be stronger Spiritually, physically, and emotionally this year.

The scripture I will be clinging to is:

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

  3. OK - I've been thinking about this for a couple weeks.

I've been thinking that my word should be "Courage", but not sure. I've spent the last 5 years living in fear. I've had a stalker, my husband attacked by a poacher, things being stolen from our property recently (which happens to be in the boonies, isolated with no neighbors).

But maybe my word should be "trust". My trust needs to be in God. I'm vacillating here. Can you tell?

I also want to start working on my health - exercise, eating better, etc. That will take courage and determination. Maybe "self-control" would cover it all. But self-control seems to leave out God. :-)

    Any help would be appreciated.

  8. I, too, have been pondering my word for 2012...we do feel great changes are coming this year. We have been praying for God's will in our lives to be fulfilled so maybe my word will be surrender. I am not sure yet...still praying about it. Love your post. LOVE the verses in Ps. 25. Glad you are feeling better.

  9. My word this year will be "strong" as to be strong in handling whatever comes healthwise, mentally and physically, with God's help. My verse will be.....
    Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

  11. I think my key word for 2012 will be PEACE - as in peace in my heart and my spirit. I have struggled a lot in 2011 with things like guilt amd shame - mostly from things I did when I was young and stupid (and before I became a Christian), but also more trivial things that stem from a very critical upbringing etc. In 2012 I want to overcome that and move on from past decisions. I want to find out who the real me is, instead of conforming to what people expect of me.

  12. After study and prayer, I believe that my word for 2012 should be SOW.

    "Those who SOW in TEARS
will reap with songs of joy.
He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to SOW, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him. Psalm 126:5-6.

I believe the word SOW can relate to my health, spiritual, social, work, relational, and any other issue in my life. What I choose to do (or sow) in each area will result in what I reap.

I've spent the last 6 years attempting to overcome fear.

My testimony to how far I've come in the last 6 years could be summed up in Psalm 94:17-19.

"Unless the Lord had given me help,
I would soon have dwelt in the
    silence of death.
When I said, "my foot is slipping,"
Your love, O Lord, supported me.
When ANXIETY was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul."

Amen and amen. What a gracious God we serve. Many blogging friends have encouraged me, even tho they were unaware of it. God used them for my good.

Now it's time to move on and start doing something.

  14. Hi Ms. Debbie,
The word you picked was good but I found one that fits me right now and I am sure you will agree, even found a verse for it.

    The word: Strive

    1 Timothy 4:10
That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

I am going to exert oneself vigorously, to make strenuous efforts, to contend in opposition, battle, or any conflict and to struggle vigorously, as in opposition or resistance; the definition according to the dictionary.

Read that and new that was the word God has intended for me this year.

Love ya, I will be back in your church soon, I promise.
