It's not the most important thing in life.....

Out of the mouths of babes!

The oldest boys spent the night with us Thursday.
After having their ice cream, one of them mentioned popcorn.....
so, of course, what does a good Nannie do?
She pops popcorn!

After indulging in the popcorn, which was awesome, by the way, just ask the boys (organic popcorn popped in coconut oil and drizzled with real butter), I mentioned that I had ate too much that day and was probably way over my calorie allotment.  I was sitting on the love seat and our oldest grand-boy came up beside me, placing both hands on the arm of the sofa and stared me straight in the face and said.....

"Nannie, it's not the most important thing in life."

WOW!

Talk about a profound statement and a wake-up call and putting things into the proper perspective!

What struck a cord in me, wasn't JUST eating too much......
it had to do with some other things that I've placed way too much importance on.

As I was walking one day a few weeks ago and talking to the Lord,
I felt in my spirit that I should disable the comments on my blog posts.
I really didn't want to, but I knew that comments had become way too important to me, especially that I get very few.
I realize I was seeking man's (woman's) approval.
Right after that, I got a really sweet comment from someone and decided that I wouldn't listen to that prompting.
But, as y'all know.....
 HE.JUST.DOESN'T.GIVE.UP!

So, I obeyed.

Saturday evening, after the  boys went home and I had a chance to sit down at the computer,
I disabled comments on this blog.....
until further notice.....
by the Holy Spirit!!!

If you'll look to the right side-bar,
you'll find this little "sign".

Galatians 1:10
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people,
but of God.
If pleasing people were my goal,
I would not be Christ’s servant.
