{ Stuff We Did }

I don't share a whole lot about my personal life.....
mostly because I don't want to bore y'all to tears.
Since this weekend was kinda special,
I thought I'd share a couple of high-lights!

See that handsome little fellow in the picture above?
Well, he celebrated his 8th birthday yesterday!  Oh, my word, people.  I know we are all so proud of our grand-kids and I'm certainly no exception.  This little guy has such a heart for Jesus.  I've said it so many times before,  but I really do think God has great plans for this one.  His ultimate goal is to be a missionary to China.  He could use some prayers, too.  He is suffering from some pretty serious allergies and his diet is quite limited these days.  But, of all our grands who would best handle this situation, it's Sawyer Jackson.  He pretty much takes life in stride and is always so very concerned about the other person, not himself!
Mercy, how he's loved!!!

It's rare for Pappy and me to go to a movie, but he surprised me yesterday by saying we were going out to eat and a movie after church.  We've both been a bit "under the weather", his being cold/allergies, mine being.....
probably old age....LOL
I've been experiencing some dizziness and actually fell Friday evening when all I was trying to do was pick up something out of the floor.  Before I knew it, I had toppled over and fell into an antique sewing machine and landed on my behind in the foyer.  Now I'm sporting a pretty blue/black bruise on my arm.  It's all good, though.  I've figured out that it's an issue with the occipital nerve, all because the glasses I've been wearing were too tight behind my ear and pressing on that nerve.  I've had some issues with that in the past.
Getting old just ain't for sissies, right?!?!?
Anyway, the movie was really good.  There are a few things I could have gone without seeing/hearing, but I always look for a meaning in things I watch.  This was my favorite quote from the movie.....

"You're never wrong for doing the right thing."

Then, last night, I was able to get our CHRISTmas gift to each other up and running.  Still got some things to work out with it, but I'm positive it's going to be a joy for me to use.  This is the first brand new computer we've had in probably 20 years.  We always buy used ones.  I'm thanking God for His good gifts to us.....
precious grandkids.....
time to spend with family and my husband.....
a new computer.....

but, most of all the gift of His Son.

HOPE everybody has a  great Monday before CHRISTmas!!!

Remember to slow down and......

breathe in Grace!

  2. What a handsome young man Sawyer is! Happy Birthday to him. When my allergies get bad I have some inner ear problems and get dizzy. It's no fun. I'm glad you you didn't break anything with your fall! New computers are fun. I'm getting prompts to upgrade to Windows 10 and don't know if I should do it. I love the Windows 7 that came with my computer. I probably need to bite the bullet and do it while it's still free. Have a blessed day.

  3. Sawyer is a goodlooking young man and I know you are proud of him, and rightly so. Knowing and wanting to serve the Lord is a great gift. I am so sorry you fell. I am the exact same way. Do something easy and simple and I either bump, bruise or fall before I even realize it. I love coming here, and you never bore me, you encourage me, so keep it up! Family is what our lives are all about, especially at this time of year.
