{ Breathing in Grace }

If I ever wanted to crawl -  no, jump into a painting, it's the one that's my newest header.  I first saw it in a friend's "good morning" Facebook post and I knew I had to find it so I headed straight over to Google.  As God would have it, it wasn't too difficult to locate along with the artist, whom I gave credit to underneath the picture.  I just sat and stared at it for the longest time, letting every single little detail draw me in.....

The wicker chair on the porch - an American flag flying - rooster weather vane - cow in the barn - goldenrod blooming down the fence row - smoke coming out of the chimney - the way the sunlight  dappled in areas here and there - the ruts in the driveway - a few pumpkins in front of the barn -  the chickens - flag up on the mailbox waiting for mail to be picked up - that light in the barn and how it seemed to actually glow - the "Smoky" mountains - a little squirrel in the tree

But, you know what the greatest feeling was being engrossed in the fall scene?

It was one of total peace and relaxation.
I even found myself at one point taking a deep breath, as if to just breathe it all in.

And, I was reminded of my words for 2016,  (be) Present.  I believe God wanted to get my attention to focus on the here and now, not looking too far down the road.  The title of this blog also came to mind and I had to smile.

I'm breathing in His grace,
and breathing out His praise!

  2. Such a beautiful post! Isn't it amazing how art can pull so much emotion out of the viewer!? Here at the art museum where I work, we love it when a visitor spends time with a painting or photograph. That's why we put benches in the galleries. Sit and let the scene soak in. It really can be an emotional experience, as you know and explained so well here!! Have a blessed day!

  4. Oh that is so beautiful and peaceful. I LOVE that picture, and would also love to walk right onto that front porch and sit down in the rocker and just "be"..."breathing in His grace, breathing out His praise!" Thank you for this restful, peaceful, grace-filled moment. Love it!!!
