Enough is Enough

Have you ever thought about some words in the English language and how funny they sound...or is this just my warped sense of humor?!?!?!?!

Take the word "enough" for instance.....probably pronounced "e-nuff", by most of us country folk. If you know me very well, you know I had to look up the definition, and the one I liked best...that applied more to what I was thinking was this:

Sufficiently; stop! Don't do that anymore, etc.

I know that God speaks to us...in that still small voice:

I Kings 19:12 (KJV)......And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

If you look up this scripture in the New Living Translation, it is described as "the sound of a gentle whisper".

I've had a lot of times in my own life when I knew without a shadow of a doubt, that it was God whispering to me. It happened again on Monday. It had to do with something that God has been dealing with me about for some time, and I finally heard Him whisper "enough". I have had to end friendships because "enough was enough". It came time to move on. I've had to come to the realization that the way I eat is described in the Bible as gluttony....I do not like that word at all, but that is what I was...still am sometimes...a glutton. Now, don't get me wrong...every little thought that comes into your mind is not from the Lord...I find that the closer I try to live to the Lord...the more I am able to discern when it's God speaking to me...whispering to me!!

How precious is that...to think that the God of the universe...who brings all the mighty storms we've been having lately...who brings the sun up in the morning...will take the time to whisper to me!!!
