Galatians 3:28

Galatians 3:28 (NLT)

There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.

You know what I think about when I read this verse of scripture???.....about how God loves us all the same. He doesn't love rich people more than poor people, or white people more than black people, or "religious" people more than those who don't practice a "religion". He loves us all...thank goodness...and thank Him for that!! I told my Mom once that I know He loves everybody...but don't you think He might like some of us more than others??? She just laughed. I get that a lot!! HA! HA!
Anyway...want to know what prompted this line of thinking????
Well, here goes...I have spent way too much time in emergency rooms during the past 2 weeks!!! First Pappy's Mom was taken to the ER in Knoxville and you all know how that turned out. Then, as I told you I was in the ER with Jessica Leigh Friday night and Saturday night. We were sitting in the waiting area Saturday and I had told her it would probably be a bit wild since it was Saturday night...well, sure enough it was. What a variety of people!!! I just couldn't help but notice all the different races, ages, and ailments. There was a black man who had something terribly wrong with his hand. It was swollen almost double, and he was in so much pain. I truly wanted to go over and sit and try to comfort him in some way!! Then, there was the lady with the barf bag...didn't want so much to get too close to her!!! There were the two men who were together, one having discomfort in his chest....a man whose daughter kept chasing him around the room with a cellphone trying to get him to talk to somebody....the little girl with the broken arm...a young mother with her baby...all of the people taking people's insurance information...the receptionist...the nurses and doctors...but...as varied as these people were in their skin color, their age, their clothing, their size...most likely their beliefs...as different as we all are...God loves each and every one of us. I wish I could love like He loves. I wish I could look totally beyond the outward appearance and see what He sees. There is a song that is on my Playlist that is "Give Me Your Eyes". I have prayed that prayer and asked God to grant me that...to be able to look beyond what the world sees, and see the inside of the person. To see their hurts, their needs, their desires, especially to see their need for Him. You know what?? In the long scheme of things...that's all that matters anyway...what's on the inside...and that needs to be Jesus. Jesus didn't just die on the cross for some of us...He did it for ALL of us.

In His Love...and with mine...have a blessed Monday!!!

  2. I look forward to reading your blogs everyday, I know I don't always comment, but I do read them often and I enjoy them.
this one really makes sense today, it reminds me of the shooting yesterday, supposedly this man did this shooting partly because he was down on his luck (recently lost his job) and partly as a hate crime, because this church accepted everybody there, they had no prejudices, and it made me think about what you said, how God loves us all, no matter what color, size, shape, age, or impairment.
I'm glad He loves me and I'm so thankful that He saw fit to bring us together at WW. you're a dear friend and I love you.
