If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
This verse of scripture has been sent to me by two of you this morning in response to our blog today on fasting, weeping, and mourning. Please, please take the time sometime today to steal away and spend some time with the Lord praying for our country....for those who are making major decisions concerning our welfare and our economy. I feel that is all God is asking...that we acknowledge Him...that He's still in control...and that we cannot do this without Him. Our country was founded on Christian principles....what happened???
The TV was on yesterday and Bill Mahr was being interviewed. It just about made me sick to my stomach to listen to this man. He made a reference to praying and talking to "your imaginary friend"....he talked about America still being religious...."unlike every other civilized western Democracy in the world this country is still extremely religious because we're young and dumb" was what he said. He went on to say that 60% of the American people believed the "Noah's ark story" literally. "They believe a man lived to 900 years old and he collected 2 of every animal onto a boat" were his words. He stated that being spiritual was on his "to do list" He was asked if he ever talked to God and he said that if you think you hear from God, then it's just a voice in your head and somebody needs to call "Bellview".
My heart hurts from hearing what this man had to say. I consider the words of Bill Mahr...along with Ray Boltz saying that God made him a homosexual and that was the lifestyle he would be living....those kinds of thoughts and actions are nothing but Satan. I told somebody yesterday that this is nothing but blasphemy....which is the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for God.
Again...please, please pray!!

I should hope this man doesnt die tonight! I am far from a perfect christian, I know God doesnt ever give up on me and I cant imagine my life without his guidance and forgiveness. I think about how I was raised and I Dont know how the human race has gotten so far away from the truth. Did these people grow up never having heard the word of God??? And I certainly dont understand why you would want to deny something that is so positive and good. God forgive them all...they will need it.

ReplyDeletewhen I read the part about Noah being 900, it reminded me of our preacher today, he talked about Methuzalah (spelling??) being 969, & me and haley were discussing wonder who was the oldest person mentioned in the Bible? I told her I would ask you.... do you or Jack happen to know?
(I used to always ask my Mamaw Maples these types of questions, she really knew the Bible. )
