Four on Friday!!!

I know today is "recipe day"...but I have some other things to talk about, so I decided to do another "four on Friday"!!!
Here goes:

1. We have a huge, huge praise!!!
Ms. Beatrice got her test results back...and they are negative for cancer!!! Praise our Precious, Loving Savior!!! He has heard and answered our prayers. This is a sweet, sweet lady who goes to our church. I know that she and her husband are so relieved....so is her church family!!!! Again...thank you Precious Lord!!!

2. An old, dear friend...from, let's see....20 years ago....got in touch with me this week thru Facebook. I set up a Facebook account, but I never go on there unless somebody contacts me. And, Ms. Jo contacted me and it was such a wonderful surprise...made my day!!! This is one talented lady. She is working on a web-site and I'll share that link with you all as soon as I have it, and you can see her wonderful work. She is an artist and I am so proud to have so many of her little drawings that she gave me years ago on little pieces of paper!!! Yes, Ms. Jo, I kept them!!! When I worked in Knoxville, 20 years ago, we worked in the same office and were the bestest of friends. You know how life gets in the way sometimes and we just fail to keep in touch????....well, thank you Lord, for the internet!!! With all of it's problems, it can be a positive tool, too!!!
Again...it was so good to hear from you, Ms. Jo...I love you!!!

3. Last night, we kept Little Bit while Jess and The Dad took Big Brother to Dixie Stampede to see the Christmas show. When they got home, Big Brother was so excited. He told me he saw horses and he saw Baby Jesus. I love seeing our boys getting to know who Jesus is, and Pap and me pray already to get to see the day that they accept Jesus into their little hearts and be baptized.
Talk about shouting....I bet this is one Nana you're gonna hear get loud!!!!

4. Okay...the moment you've all waited for...the recipe!!!
This one is from my friend, Janis...who got it from a lady she works with.

Pea Salad

4 cans of black-eyed peas (or purple hull peas - maybe Bush brand???)
1 pound of frozen shoepeg corn (white)

Rinse ingredients well and strain

2 peppers (different colors) chopped fine
1 medium/large onion chopped

Add these to the pea mixture

Mix in a small bowl:

1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1/2 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)

Toss to coat and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving

Great with Frito Scoops

Enjoy!!!

In His Love...and with mine!!!

  2. I usually have to comment on all of your blogs, but I don't like peas, so for once, I'm at a loss for words, imagine that LOL.
it's great to hear about your friend Beatrice though, that's great news that she received, and I'm happy for you, for getting in touch with an old friend, that was cool that she found you on the internet.
    love ya
