Wednesday Words of Wisdom

The Serenity Prayer
This is one of my Mom's very favorite sayings, or quotes...or prayers!!!

There are so many things going on in all of our lives right now....career changes....loss of jobs....health issues....divorce....hurt feelings....loved ones not living their lives for the Lord....and this list could go on forever.
Do you realize that what we're feeling right now.....if we're upset, or worried about something.....that it might be for naught....and probably is because isn't the percentage of the things we worry about not happening around 99%????
If we turn it over to God....and let Him handle it and truly mean it when we say "Your will be done"....then, we know that He wants what is best for us. Now, does that mean it's going to all turn out like we want it to? Not always, because we certainly don't know what's best for us. I look at my own life and some things that I wished for....even prayed for....God chose to say "No"....and, boy, am I glad He did!!! He knew the outcome....He's able to look way down the road and see the future...all we're feeling is the here and now.So...turn it over to Him...give it all to Him....and ask for His will to be done....then, quit worrying...
quit "Future Tripping".

Philippians 4:11-13 (NLT)

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

In His Love...and with mine!!!

  1. future tripping?? did you come up with that on your own? I love it!!!

I'm glad you mentioned this verse on your blog today, it makes a lot of sense to me, I've heard the last sentence a lot, but I dont think I've ever heard or read the whole thing. I really like what it's saying. I've been just reading it over and over :-)
