Adoption

Have any of you ever met my Mom???
She's not bigger than a mess of minutes.
I look at her...then look at myself...and wonder how in the world I ever came out of that petite, small little woman!!!
I tell her..and others...that I think they're waiting until I'm old enough to be able to handle the shock to let me know that I was adopted at birth!!!!! ha! ha!
But...seriously....she is tiny, tiny and I'm...well, I'm not tiny, tiny, by no means!!!
I talked to a sis-in-law about this very thing last weekend, and it got me to thinking about the word "adoption". I know a young couple who spent many years trying to have a child of their own, and finally wound up adopting a little baby boy who is about 18 months old now. They were...are...so very happy that God blessed them with this child...no, he's not their biological child...but he is still theirs....they take care of him, support him and love him.
Many of you know that I have a younger brother and no sisters, but when I married Pappy I feel that I was adopted into his family and I am blessed to have some amazing, wonderful, supportive, prayerful sister-in-laws. These ladies treat me just like I am their sister, not their sister-in-law...and I'm even close to Pappy's sister-in-laws...his brother's wives.
I am truly blessed to have been "adopted" into this wonderful family!!!
Do you realize that when you become a child of God that you are "adopted" into God's family. He becomes our Heavenly Father, and all other Christian men and women, boys and girls, become our brothers and sisters in Christ. WOW!!! Isn't that wonderful to even think about? That we have such a powerful connection with other people...even complete strangers. I've met some amazing people thru this blog...people I have never met face to face, but who leave me such sweet comments, and have became my "follower"....and I can tell that they are my sisters, too!!!
That just warms my heart and makes me happy and fills me with joy
(yes, there's a difference)!!!

Ephesians 1:5 (NLT)
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

Don't you just love this verse of scripture???
God decided in advance to adopt Deb into his own family by bringing her to himself through Jesus Christ. He wanted to do this for Deb...and it gave Him great pleasure!!!

WOW....it actually gave me chills...happy chills....to type that verse of scripture and make it personal for me!!!

Happy, happy weekend to each of you....my dear brothers and sisters in Christ!!!

In His Love...and with mine!!!
