Have I ever told you how much I like old sayings....and quotes????
Oh, yeah...I think I have...maybe once or twice!!!!
Here's one I learned a long time ago:
"Red sky at morning, sailor take warning
Red sky at night, sailor's delight"
What this means is....if the sky is red in the morning, then it's a sign that a storm is coming up and the sailor needs to take warning...but...if the sky is red at night, then the sailor is in for "clear sailing"!
But...did you know that this "old saying"....is also in the Bible???Oh, yes it is!!!!I came across the scripture that goes along with the little rhyme many years ago and highlighted it in my Bible:
Matthew 16:2-3 (KJV)
He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
So...that's your little bit of Bible trivia for today!!!
