Happy Friday!!!

Happy Friday, Precious Blogging Friends!!!

May I just start out by saying....I'm worn out!!!
For the past few weeks, I've spent a lot of time cleaning....sprucing up....sewing....crafting....painting....and I think it might have finally caught up with me.  I really hate to think that it has anything to do with my age!!!!

Plus....I've had to do a bit of backtracking on one of my previous posts.  Remember the one about how we were blessed with the fridge?!?!?  Well....I still feel in my heart that my mother-in-law had us in mind when she bought the fridge....and if for no other reason....that in itself was such a huge blessing to me!!!
We knew when we got her that she had a problem (I have no clue why I think it's a she).....with keeping cold.  We had a repairman come out and he was no help....and she just kept going down hill.  Everything in the freezer is frosting over....and the fridge part is a pleasant 50 degrees....which is not nearly cold enough to keep things from spoiling....so....off we go to Lowe's to buy a new fridge.  The very nice (and quite handsome, I might add)....young man who helped us went ahead and wrote up the invoice because we weren't sure if the height would fit under the over the fridge cabinet....and it didn't....so....guess what I spent the evening doing?!?!?
You're not gonna believe this one....and no I didn't get before and after pics....but....I politely sawed off the cabinet.  I might take a pic when it's all finished and trimmed out....and painted....and I find 2 baskets to go on the top shelf....but....it's gonna work just fine....if I do say so myself.
What kinda struck me as odd....was Pappy just brought me the tools I needed....and let me have at it....didn't even question whether it was a good idea, or not!!!
So....hopefully....they will be delivering our new fridge on Saturday afternoon.

This part I even hate to admit....but we're having a pesty problem with those teensy-tiny, itty-bitty....ANTS!!!  I do not like ANTS at all!!!
So...while at Lowe's....we picked up a big whopping container of bug spray....so....my mission for tomorrow (if I choose to accept it....which I have no choice)....is to remove everything from underneath the sink....and spray for those nasty little things!!!
Of...course...that's after I go to Lowe's to pay for the fridge....stop at Goodwill to look for 2 "just the right size" baskets for the shelf over the fridge....put another coat of paint on the cabinet....vacuum the house....finish up the laundry....and try my  best to clean up the huge mess that's developed in my poor kitchen!!!

I've not even shared everything that's happened this week because by now you're probably bored to tears....but....one more little tidbit....was that I got a call from a friend....while I was in the midst to trying to wrestle 2 rascals to get them to calm down so I could fix them some lunch....and she really didn't get to hear me at my best....sorry, Ms. Brenda!!!
And....I promise this is my last complaint....speaking of getting a call....I dropped and scratched my cell phone...now some of you won't understand why I even bother to share that one...but Jess will understand.  I'm picky, picky, picky about my cell phone!!!  Now...could it be that's why I dropped and scratched it...maybe God was letting me know that it's just "stuff"....and what's that saying?!?!?
"Don't sweat the small stuff"!!!

Anyway....is it any wonder....that I'm exhausted?!?!?

Oh, well....such is life!!!

So....to make up for all my complaining....here's a recipe for a yummy sounding cake!!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Ingredients
1-1/2 cups butter, softened
1 (8 oz. ) pkg. cream cheese, softened
3 cups sugar
6 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 T. vanilla extract

Directions
Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed with electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until combined. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to batter, beating at low speed just until blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla and pour batter into a greased and floured 10" bundt,  or tube pan. Bake at 300 for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 -15 minutes; remove from pan and let cool completely on wire rack.

Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend....and if you get a chance....whisper up a little prayer for "old Deb"....over at Jeremiah 29:11!!!
She sure could use all the help she can get!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  2. It's great that you were able to tackle the project of cutting off the kitchen cabinets by yourself.

I am happy that you are getting a new refrigerator.

I hope it fits perfectly and runs for 30 years!
