October Occurrences

Tomorrow is the first day of October....say it ain't so?!?!?  October is gonna fly right by, just like the last 9 months have (unless any of you reading this have been pregnant during the last nine months, then it was probably kinda slow going for you, huh? ;).....but as soon as October is gone....then, we have Thanksgiving and Christmas....and then....we start all over with a brand spankin' new year....which will probably fly by even faster than this one has!!!

Since I started this way back when....telling a few things about the current month....and there's only 2 months left after this one....let's see what October has in store for us!!!

The flower for the month of October is the Calendula, or Cosmos....and I've never heard of either!!!

The birthstone for October is the opal.
This is an actual picture of my ring (and my old hand!!!)  Many years ago when Pappy and I first got married....he bought me an opal ring....and then, several years later, we had it reset.

For a really good list of October Observances....
....go to Holiday Insights....that way I won't have to list them all here.....not that I'm lazy!!!
:)

Personal Special October Dates....
October 3rd - My friend Janis' birthday
October 9th - My cousin Stephanie's birthday
October 9th - My late paternal grandmother's birthday (Mammie)
October 19th - My baby brother's 51st birthday

And....for those of you who are keeping up with my weight loss journey....check back the first of November....there might just be a surprise for 'ya!!!

Happy October, Dear Friends!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  2. October 1. Was my Dad's birthday and my anniversary. Oct 14th was my Mom's birthday.
    Sad day for me today.

    I think I don't like October.
