Are you thinking that I've totally gone off my rocker....lost what's left of my feeble mind?
Well....that might possibly be true....but I really do have a point!!!
:)
A few weeks ago in our Sunday school class....we were discussing mistreating others....and a lady spoke up and told us that she heard a minister say once that we needed to just keep heaping coals ....which he took from these verses of scripture....
Proverbs 25:21-22
If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat.
If they are thirsty, give them water to drink.
You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you.
Then....this past Sunday, our teacher recited a quote that I often heard my Mom say as I was growing up....
"You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar"
In other words....kindness goes a long way....much farther than being a sourpuss!!!
So....are you wondering why I felt like God was shining a light directly down upon my head as I sat in Sunday school....two Sunday's in a row....and heard practically the same thing said twice....
(remember....if you hear it twice, God's trying to get your attention)
Am I the only person who takes what I hear personally?
Am I the only person who God speaks to....reprimands?!?
Oh, I know the answer to that is "NO"....but does HE have to correct me sooooo often?!?!?
Obviously, He does....because I am hard headed sometimes....and I just don't catch on with a little subtle hint....it takes that proverbial "2 x 4" up side the head to get my attention....and realize that He's trying to say....
"Hey, Deb....I'm talking to YOU"!!!
HOPEfully....the next time....and I know me well enough that there will be a next time....I won't be looking around the room wondering just who in the world could those little sayings....those verses of scripture be applied to. All I'll have to do is look inward....or realize that flash of lightning I just saw was over my head!!!
:)
In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
