Monday's Child

Monday's child is fair of face.
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
Wednesday's child is full of woe.
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving.
Saturday's child works hard for a living.
But the child who is born on the Sabbath Day,
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay.
When you hear this little poem....do you immediately look at the day you were born and see if it "fits" you?!?  I was born on Friday....and I do think that I'm pretty "loving"....and "giving"!!! Not sure why I got that poem on my mind. But....it got me to digging into scripture....something I LOVE to do!!!! So....here are some scriptures that go along with each child's description.
Monday
"fair of face"
 2 Samuel 14:27 (KJV)
And unto Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance.

In some translations, "fair" means beautiful!!!

Tuesday
"full of grace"

 (love the story of Ruth!!!)

Ruth 2:10 (KJV)
Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?

Wednesday
"full of woe"

Jeremiah 10:19 (KJV)
Woe is me for my hurt!
My wound is grievous;
but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.

Thursday
"far to go"

This verse doesn't contain the word far....but I like how it has to do with allowing Him to direct our way!!!

 Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.

 Friday
"loving and giving"

I John 3:17 (NIV)
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?

  Saturday
"works hard for a living"

Ecclesiastes 3:22a
So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot.

Sunday
"bonny and blithe and good and gay"

Psalm 5:11 (NIV)
But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

Leave me a comment and let me know if you agree that the description of the child on the day of week you were born....fits you!!!

HOPE everybody has a great Monday!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. I was born on Wednesday. I think it fits me. If something happens I just accept it as it was suppoes to happen and carry on.
