If you're like me, and don't always sleep well....don't think that it's such a bad thing. I believe that sometimes God wakes us up to pray for somebody specific, or to place a verse of scripture on our heart....or, to just remember how much we have to be thankful for!! I used to worry and fret when I couldn't sleep because of that old song about Him troubling our sleep at night because of sin in our life. I'm not saying that doesn't happen. But, no matter what the reason is we can't sleep, or wake up and can't fall back to sleep....we should use that as an opportunity to pray!!!
Psalm 119:148 (New Life Version)
My eyes wait for the night hours, so I may think about Your Word.
Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday, Sweet Reader!!!
In HIS Most Precious L♥ve....and with mine, too!!!
Blessings,
You are so right. I have said this same thing many times about praying for folks when I couldn't sleep! Especially when I feel my mind is going 100 MPH on daily life....I just try real hard to pray for others. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOne night my big sister kept seeing a little girl in her dreams. She kept waking up troubled. When she'd go back to sleep, she'd see the little girl. She finally got up and turned on the TV just to have company. There was the little girl in a news clip about an earthquake. My sister began to pray for her. She was quite clear that God had awaken her through the night to pray for the child. Neat, huh?
ReplyDeleteYour blog post inspired one on my blog. Go see. Oh- and have a super smiling kind of day!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wake and pray - I ask God who or what do you want me to prayer for.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless Nita
Sometimes I get so busy that the middle of the night is when He can get my attention...but He has it then.........whether it be to tell me something or to pray for others....
ReplyDeleteYour blog header is gorgeous....I so enjoy coming to visit to see it...
I love those 'wee hour of the morning' visits with God! Sitting in my most comfortable chair in the quiet darkness, sharing my heart with Him and listening, shhhh, be still and know that He is God. {{hugs}}
ReplyDeleteI pray each morning as I wander into my office and turn on the computer. Total quiet. Peace. I thank God for another day when I awaken.
ReplyDeleteI have heart problems and many times I have been awakened in the night by angels telling me to wake up. You may not believe they are angels, but I do! I wake up and take those wonderful little nitroglycerin tablets that are my constant companion.
Seems to me our days just go better if we start of being thankful to God for all HE has given us, which includes us waking up!

I do sleep like a log, but on the rare occasions that I can't, I know I am meant to pray. Some people sleep eight hours and yawn all day while others sleep five hours and look and feel refreshed. Now that I am retired I go to bed late and get up the same.. xx
ReplyDeleteMy mother exact words. If God wakes you up from your sleep start praying. I agree with you whole heartly. I love the mornings the best part of waking up is Jesus in your heart. But a little coffee does help in the morning hours. Lately, really since time changed in the fall and hubby on first we get up at 5:00am. I am usually up btwn 4:30 and 5:00am.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, its all about perspective right? I too choose to use my sleeplessness to pray sometimes. It certainly is a great way of taking back anything the devil may be trying to steal, like "sleep" Great reminder and thanks for linking up
ReplyDeleteGod bless
Tracy
