A sincere desire.....

.....of the heart!!!

That's a simple definition of prayer that was in my spelling book when I was in "grammar school".
Merriam-Webster on-line dictionary defines prayer as follows:

an address (as a petition) to God, or a god, in word or thought
a set order of words used in praying
an earnest request or wish

I was quite disappointed with the part about praying to a god (little "g"),
but totally agree that our prayers can be simple thoughts that we think "to God"!
For example, one morning last week I went to see my Mom and when I got there she was in therapy, so I sat in her room and prayed.
My prayers were "in my head".....thoughts to God about specific needs that I knew others had.

Our church has started a new prayer ministry where those who have signed up to pray are assigned a specific SONday morning to meet in the prayer room to pray over cards that have been filled out by the congregation with their requests.  The prayer warriors pray during the service, while our pastor is bringing the message.  I heard a couple of times yesterday, once in SONday school and a request on one of the cards, that we need to pray for each other.
 How true that is.
Often, I fail to ask for prayer for myself thinking there are others who have much greater needs.  How pious of me to think that way!  If our children, or grandchildren have a problem, or a need, no matter how big or small, don't we want to hear about it so we can do everything we can to help?  I believe that's the exactly how our Heavenly Father feels about His children, too.

Ephesians 6:18
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.
Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

I have a personal prayer request.
Please pray that God will give me strength and perseverance for the tasks at hand!!!

Philippians 1:3
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.

In HIS Most Precious Lve....and with mine, too!!!

Blessings,
Deb

P.S....if you have something that I can pray for you about,
please leave a comment, even if it's unspoken!!!
