Horray for the red, white and burlap.....

My best friend 's all things patriotic.....
and I love making things for her.
We made plans to meet for lunch yesterday and I just had to take her a little something to help her celebrate July 4th!!

I bought the stars and stripes burlap at Wal-Mart and found a pillow insert, new in the package, at my favorite thrift store.....
and it was even down filled!!

The back of the pillow is simply muslin that I had on hand,
and I overlapped it (envelope style) so it can be taken off.

And, she also got a little patriotic banner.
Again, the fabric came from Wally World,
and I already had the quilt binding on hand,
so I just cut out the pennants with pinking shears and sewed them on.....

So that's that about that,
as my Mammie used to say!
(I love that saying)

But, what about y'all?
What have your hands been finding to craft lately?

Breathing in Grace,

Treasure Hunt Thursday

  1. I am in love!!! I am going through a burlap stage. My most recent craft was some plastic canvas coasters, but I am heading to A.C. Moore this weekend to pick up some stuff. Stop over at my blog if you get a chance and see the vanity a friend of mine refinished and a chair she made. They made me think of you because I know you are very talented on restoring and refurbishing furniture. I think you will like what she did. Have a blessed day and enjoy your 4th.

  2. Debbie, talk about talent! My friend you have talent! I love the pillow and bunting! And you know I love burlap! GREAT IDEA about the pillow! Now...maybe I catch some on sale after July 4th and have it for next year! Thanks for sharing and Happy 4th my friend. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  3. LOVE!!! I keep thinking I want to switch my décor into red, white, blue.... classic and never goes out of style!!

  4. I <3 your patriotic pillow!!! Happy 4th:)

  5. How happy your friend must have been to receive these lovely gifts I'm afraid I'm sadly lacking in the "crafty" dept.
Wishing you a blessed & safe 4th of July. God bless us everyone. :)
