low in status or importance;
The shepherds in Palestine were at the bottom of the social classes.....
yet, angels from heaven went to them first to announce the birth of Jesus.
Jesus Himself was born in a manger,
not the place fit for a King!
Both the shepherds and the manger were more than likely smelly and stinky.
Jesus became our Shepherd and came to earth to die for our "stinky" sins!
He came in such a way not to intimidate -
but to give us "lowly" ones great HOPE!!!
Thank You, Jesus!
I think between you and others, there are flies/ears on my walls (giggling)...we were just discussing this the other evening. Thank you Deb...many holiday Blessings to you.ReplyDelete
I love how our God thinks - to go to the lowly, bottom-of-the-social-class people to announce the birth of His Son! Thanks for sharing this.Have a blessed day.ReplyDelete
I am so thankful He was willing to be born as a human, go to the Old Rugged Cross and die for me. I cant praise Him enough.ReplyDelete
Beautiful post just in time for Christmas!ReplyDelete
I love this Deb. Humbled right now by many things that ONLY our Lord could do! Love you. Hugs and blessings, CindyReplyDelete
Your post is a great reminder for us to not look down on others. Jesus was born in a lowly manger of hard working homeless parents. There is a great lesson there!!ReplyDelete
Very well said Deb. We are so smelly and stinky, just like that stable, and yet He washes us white as snow. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!ReplyDelete
