The Saga of the She-Shed

I know Y'all have checked each and every day to see if I've posted any further updates about the she-shed. (insert crazy laughter) Well, the day has come to finally tell the story, so here goes - and bear with me because it's long and complicated and might not make a lot of sense.

The last part of May a young man we go to church with posted fotos of a storage building on Facebook and I showed it Pappy because he knew that I've been wanting one to put some of my "stuff" in and to also use as a retreat to and pray and read. The price was really good so he contacted the young man and it actually wasn't his, which would have been so much better because he lives just up the road from us, but he had posted it for a fellow he knew.  The fellow even dropped the price by $100 - the total he was asking was about 1/4th of what it cost new, so Pappy told him we would take it.  It required quite of bit of time for Pappy to put supports under it so it could be moved and he spent many hours in the hot sun working on it. He paid the man half of the asking price as a down payment. There were also several days of rain and other things that came up that kept him from working on it. The shed was located on property other than where the owner lived, but we knew that the current owner was buying the home from the shed owner. Then, all kinds of craziness started happening. The owner of the shed had sold the property to the man right before a huge balloon payment was due and the man who held the lien on the property stepped in and said that the shed actually didn't belong to the man we had paid the money to so Pappy decided to just get our money back. He had already had a few incidents where the man wasn't nice to him at all and when he asked for our money back, Pappy received a text that was very nasty with foul language. The REAL owner of the property decided to just let the man sell the shed and we were back in business, or so we thought. The shed was supported to move, he paid the fellow the rest of the money and had a man all lined up to move it and for over a week he kept putting us off after giving us a price. So, Pappy found somebody else. He just knew that this fellow was on the up and up and he would keep his word, but no. He put us off another week and I was reminded of the scripture where the man wouldn't follow Jesus because he had to bury his father (who hadn't even died yet). This man kept saying he had to do this and that for his mother - I truly began to wonder if his mother was even in the picture. One day this week, Pappy started calling places that sell sheds to see if he could find someone legitimate to haul it for us. And, he did!!! Praise the Lord - I'm pretty sure the heavens opened up and angels began to sing. But, I was still a bit skeptical because of what we'd been through already. Then, it happened. The next day the fellow called Pappy when he was on his way to the address where the shed was located - Pappy went and met him and it's now sitting in our backyard waiting to be "remodeled" to look like we want, with a little-roofed porch on the front and a keyed door and windows, but here's what it currently looks like.....

I'd like for it to be painted gray, including the blue. There'll be shutters beside the windows on the long side, probably painted either red, or turquoise or teal and the shed roof will be red metal. Our neighbor offered to give us 2 windows for the side, we already have shutters that a friend gave me and we're gonna get a salvaged door. We're cheap, Y'all!  I can't wait to be able to store some of my things in it and to decorate and landscape it next spring and summer!

I do believe it was worth the wait - maybe not all the trouble, though! My man is a rock star for doing this for me - he's a keeper!
