One of my favorite scriptures is from Psalm 103: Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,And forget not all His benefits:3 Who forgives all your iniquities,Who heals all your diseases,4 Who redeems your life from destruction,Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Oh my, I have so many. Ps. 91:11 He gives His angels charge over us! Is. 41:10 He holds us with His righteous right hand. Ps 51:10 Create in me a new heart. Matt. 11:28 go to Him and He will give us rest. I love that the words "His mercy endures forever" is found so many times His Word. (mostly in Psalm) I find comfort in the 23rd Psalm and The Lord's Prayer. My list could go on and on and on.
I love the last one from Isaiah you posted. I don't remember ever hearing that verse before. I know I've had to have read it, but I don't remember it.Micah 6:8 in the Message version is really a good one, I think. Brings it all down pretty simply. "But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do, what GOD is looking for in men and women. It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don't take yourself too seriously--take God seriously."
