Boycott

*****Boycott*****
To engage in a concerted refusal to have dealings with (as a person, store, or organization) usually to express disapproval or to force acceptance of certain conditions.
I love looking up definitions of words. I guess that's why I have Merriam-Webster bookmarked so I can get right to it when I need to.
The reason for the definition of "boycott"...............
Have you all seen the advertisement for the new television show coming on this week called "Swingtown"?
Please do not watch this show. I have been convicted of watching certain television shows....that's not to say just because I'm convicted, that you should be, too....but.....let's not even give this one a start. The previews are bad enough, so I can't even imagine what the show itself will actually be like. It seems to be promoting adultery and promiscuous (sexual...Merriam -Webster) behavior. Let the very first show be the first and the last one. There was a time in my life, that out of curiosity, I would have tuned right in and watched it along with probably over half of the rest of the country. Learn from an older, wiser woman....if it's something that you wouldn't want to let your children/grandchildren watch....or wouldn't want to watch if you had your pastor/Sunday school teacher over....then, don't watch it yourself!!!! Sometimes, we do/say/watch things, and that image is forever in our minds....don't do that to yourself!!
Read Proverbs 5 which talks about the peril (exposure to the risk of being injured, destroyed, or lost....Merriam-Webster) of adultery. It speaks about how we should raise our children.
"My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
Lend your ear to my understanding,
That you may preserve discretion,
And your lips may keep knowledge."
Proverbs 5:1-2
