Prayerful Thursday!!!

Mark 1:35 (KJV)
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there he prayed.
This verse is talking about Jesus. If you read the chapter leading up to verse 35, you'll find that Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan....he spent 40 days and nights in the wilderness, then was tempted by Satan (see that just keeps coming up!!!)....he healed Simon Peter's mother-in-law....cast a demon out of a man in the synagogue.....Jesus had a lot going on, didn't He????
So...what did He decide to do???
He decided it would be a good idea to get up early in the morning....long before daylight.....find Himself a quiet place....and PRAY!!!!

I have a friend who gets up early in the morning and reads scripture and prays while she rides here exercise bike....she's getting spiritually and physically fit at the same time!!!
I think all of us need to follow Jesus' lead....we all need to find a quiet place sometime every single day and spend some quiet time talking to our Heavenly Father!!!
Here are the prayer requests for this week:
(I don't have any updates on some of the requests from last week....if any of you have any info, please let me know!!!)
1. Kerry Brummitt
Please visit his Care Page for updates on this precious young man:
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kerrybrummitt
I love that the same doctor who told Kerry's Mom that he would die, is seeing what the power of prayer can do!!!!
Praise the Lord!!!
Kerry will be going to a hospital in Atlanta, possibly on Friday.
2. Phillipp Tackett and Rosemary Bentley
These people are kin folk of Ms. Thelma, my Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Tackett will be having surgery for cancer on February 9th.
Ms. Bentley is Ms. Thelma's step Mother. They didn't say what her health concern is.
3. Cecil Hodge
Mr. Hodge is a step father-in-law of one of Pappy's good friends. He has cancer and has been given only 3-6 weeks to live. He told his family today that he's been saved and he's ready to go because he knows he's going to heaven. I'm so glad that his family has this assurance!!!
4. Christy Cox
Ms. Cox is the daughter of a man who Pappy works with. She has fluid in her lungs and blood clots in her lungs and a heart artery. Ms. Cox is a paraplegic. Please keep this precious young lady in your prayers.
5. Tim Huffaker
This came as a shock to me and Pappy when they made this announcement at church tonight. He's not kin to Pappy, but he's been a good friend of both of us for years. He will be having a heart cath this Friday.
6. Mr. Lloyd and Ms. Bonnie
They're both sick with the terrible stomach virus that's going around. Please pray that they both feel better really soon....because....Mr. Lloyd is cooking spaghetti for his SS class Saturday night!!!
7. Ailene Franklin
Ms. Franklin is the mother of a lady who works with my friend, Ms. Janis. She is in grave condition.
8. Ms. Shari's Dad
Ms. Shari is a sweet friend we go to church with.
Her Dad will be having some tests run and she's very anxious about the results.
9. Those out of work
Please pray for all those who are loosing their jobs. With our economy like it is, it's going to be very difficult to find another job for many people. Pappy still has his job, but will be changing his shift, probably next week. He will be going in 2 hours later, and working 2 hours later, which will take some getting used to, since he's been on this shift for so long....but....he still has a job.
Thank you, Lord!!!

Praise
Ms. Marenda's Uncle Lloyd
He was scheduled to have open heart surgery, but found it wasn't necessary after having a heart cath prior to the surgery. They discovered that his medication is working.
Thank you, Dear Lord, that he didn't have to endure such a difficult surgery!!!

Dear Precious Heavenly Father,
I bring each of these names to you, Dear Lord. I only have a name for many of them, but You know them personally, and You know the needs of each person on this list. Please, give each person, and their family, the peace and the strength and the faith that they need to get them thru whatever health concern, or hardship, that they might be facing.
We know that You love and care for all of us, much more than we can ever imagine.

In Jesus' Most Blessed and Holy Name I ask these things.
AMEN!!

In His Love...and with mine!!!
