Shelter from the storm

We need a new roof on our home. Last week, Pappy was blowing leaves off the top of the house and out of the gutters, and when he came down off the ladder, he informed me that we were going to have to get our roof replaced.

My heart kinda sank.

My first reaction was "why"?......

.....and then, my second was.....

....."how will we pay for it"?

As many of you know, I haven't worked full-time for over 3 years. I truly wish I had kept track of every time that God has came thru for us....sometimes in just the nick of time....to cover a need....or, an expense. I went back out in the yard and picked up my leaf blower and started praying. I felt God speak to me....that He knew we needed a new roof, long before we did....and He was already working it out and providing a way for it to be paid for. He knows we need shelter....physical shelter....and He provides that for us.

But.....it's His sheltering arm around me....giving me His peace and comfort....that's the best shelter of all!!!

There was a time in my life that this would have worried me to death....I would have lost lots of sleep....and worried everybody around me with my troubles.

But God....

....there are those 2 precious words yet again....

BUT GOD.

Ain't He awesome?

Ain't He good?

Oh, yes He is!!!

John 14:27 (NLT)
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid."

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
