The most wonderful time......

....of the year!!!

Yes...I do believe that Christmas-time is an amazing time of year...but...I just can't seem to get into the spirit of decorating this year.  I'm thinking the only reason that I even want to dig out my Christmas stuff....is just to see the boys eyes light up when they see it all!!!  I used to get so aggravated at my Mom for feeling this very same way....but, I'm starting to understand the why of her attitude as I'm getting old....uh, excuse me....older....myself!!!  I just keep thinking...what's the use....because in just a few short weeks, I'm gonna have to put it all away!!!

Am I the only scrooge in the room?
Am I the only one feeling this way this year?
Maybe it's this cruddy cold/sinus infection that I can't seem to get over.
Or...maybe it's all the commercialization that I just can't seem to buy into.
Don't get me wrong....I love Christmas....I just don't like all the stress that goes along with it.  So...that being said....I want to leave you with some scripture that my dearest friend shared with me this week....I think it's oh, so applicable for this time of year!!!

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." Mark 6: 30-31 (NIV)

She uses this scripture at the end of her e-mails....then, she adds:

Go with Jesus this Christmas season to a quiet place and get some rest.

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  2. No, I have been feeling the same way this year. In fact, just two weeks ago I considered not putting out much at all. But once I got started I got more in the spirit of decorated. Mom said you have to for the boys and of course our little dog just loves sitting under the tree.

  3. I'm not in the spirit of decorating either. I think I'll do it this day and then when I get home from work, I'm tired. So you see, you are not the only one feeling this way. I'll get around to it. Need to before Jonpaul gets here around the 26th, can't wait to see him!!!!!!

  4. what have i told you before. . .like about tomorrow. you just got to do it, and when you do, it will make you feel good or you will have a good time. you can't just feel bad physically and mentally and not "work" to get out it.
