Several years ago, Pappy and I decided that it was time to change churches.  Well....I guess I might need to rephrase that and say that we felt God prompting us to make the change.  Because....if it had been left up to us....we would have probably just stayed in our "comfort zone".  That was one of the most difficult things we ever did.  I had been a member of the same church all my life....well, since a small child....and Pappy had joined that church when we got married, so at the time we made the change, he had been there over 25 years.  We visited several different places....some just because friends had invited us there.  This had  been going on for several weeks.... or, months....and I remember getting up one Sunday morning and crying and telling him that we were going to have to find us a "home".  I just couldn't keep going here and there.  So....we starting going to our current church....and it wasn't the pastor at the time who attracted us was....
....and how welcome they made us feel!!!
This is sad to say...but we had never been made to feel that loved in the church we were in for so many years!!!!
So...after going there for about 3 months...we joined....and never looked back...only forward!!!

Isn't that basically what all of us are looking for....searching for?
A place to call home....a place where we feel comfortable....a place where we're loved?  I wonder how many times I've failed to make others feel that way.  Jess and I were discussing a certain situation the other day, and talking about how rejection is probably the worst human emotion that we can feel.
Have I made anybody feel that way because I didn't take the time to just speak...introduce myself to them...or even give them a smile?

The ladies in the Bible study that I joined when we first started at our church....I have to give those ladies credit for welcoming in the "stranger"....making me feel so very at home....and I cherish the wonderful friendships that were made....and have lasted to this very day!!!

If this is your first visit here...or, even if you're a follower and check in every day....please know how much your visit means to me and that it makes me smile....and that you're welcome back....anytime.  I never want to take any of my friendships for granted....and don't want to take those who stop by to see what I have to say, or what I've been up to....for granted, either!!!

Proverbs 18:24 (KJV)
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly....

Blessings to you!!!
In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. I did think about it this also this week. Which people that God brought into my life I really do cherish as a friend. Debbie you are certainly in the top five best freinds.

  2. I'm glad God brought you to our church and into my life. Thank you Lord for this wonderful lady!
