Unto These Hills

I want to share some pics with y'all that we took this past weekend.  Pappy and I haven't had a 'real' vacation in quite a few years....not since before I quit work.
(well, I work now....but I mean since before I quit my paying ($$$) job....
....ha! ha!)

Sunday morning, we traveled "across the border" to a neighboring state to visit a beautiful church nestled in the mountains of North Carolina.  It was a beautiful setting....and a beautiful day....and I was so glad to have our little camera with us.

So often I fail to realize just how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful area of the country.  Tourists come from hundreds of miles away to visit The Great Smoky Mountains!!!  Here are some pics that we took this weekend that reminded us of this beauty....right in our front door!!!

There had been a rain shower just as we came thru this area and there was a mist coming up off the water.

This one needs an explanation.
When I was a little girl, my Daddy would always "honk" the car horn as we drove thru tunnels....so that's why I took this pic....because it reminded me of him.  Pappy blew our car horn and said, "that one was for your Dad"!!!

Other than getting a bit car sick....which I have a tendency to do on windy mountain roads....we had a wonderful time....enjoying "God's country"!!!

Tuesday Blessings to each of 'ya!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Oh Deb..you ARE so blessed!! Do you know how much I want to live where you do? I've always loved the Great Smoky Mountains!! We drove through them several years ago.

What a blessing...and your photos are just beautiful!

Thanks so much for your comments. :o) I've been so swamped with grandbabies that I was too tired to do anything but throw a post up now and then. Then I went straight to bed-Ha!

  2. I think North Carolina is just another beautiful states that shows our Fathers handy work. I love the mountains, but when we went to Chimney Rock, NC in April those are mountains let me tell you. I glad you two got away for awhile.

  7. Oh, Deb, these are really beautiful photos of beautiful scenes! I just know I will think of you and your Dad each time I drive through a tunnel from now on. We go through the Lehigh Valley tunnel when we visit our daughter.
