Weekly Recap #25 - Psalm 76 - 110

I hope nobody takes this the wrong way....but I will be glad to get out of the Book of Psalms and head into Proverbs.

Please don't get me wrong....I love Psalms....but....if you start at the beginning and read 5 chapters every day...and you have 150 to read....then, that's 30 days of reading a lot of things that are very repetitive.
Of course....maybe that's what I need to get it to sink in!!!

Again this week, here are some that stood out to me....
....and the reasons why.

This one reminds me that even as a grandmother....I have a responsibility to teach my grandchildren about the Lord!!!
Psalm 78:4 We will not hide these truths from our children's children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about His power, and His mighty wonders.

When I read this one, I thought about the saying,
"if you're gonna talk the talk, then you've gotta walk the walk"....
Psalm 78:36 - But all they gave Him was lip service; they lied to Him with their tongues.

This is one that all of us know and love....
Psalm 84:10 - A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else.  I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.

Sometimes when we think that we just can't depend on anybody....and even some days I feel that way about myself....we know that we have a friend in our Lord and Savior....
Psalm 91:1-2 - Those who live in the shelter of the most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  This I declare about the Lord:  He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;  He is my God, and I trust Him.

I love this one....knowing that God is watching over me and protecting me.....
Psalm 91:11-12 - For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go.  They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.

And....this one is for us older folk....and shows that we never get too old to serve the Lord....
Psalm 91:14 - Even in old age, they (the godly) will still produce fruit;  they will remain vital and green.

I'm reminded that no matter where I am....be it in public or in the privacy of my own home....I'm still called to be a servant of the Lord.  I have to be careful of the words I speak....the things I do....what I read....and what I look at.....
Psalm 101:2b-3 - I will live a life of integrity in my own home.  I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar.

"Birds of a feather flock together".....
Psalm 101:6 - I will search for faithful people to be my companions.

And...probably my favorites this week....
Psalm 103:2-5 - Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget all the good things He does for me.  He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.  He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.  He fills my life with good things.  My youth is renewed like the eagle's!

And.....since "East to West" by Casting Crowns is one of my favorite songs.....
Psalm 103:12 - He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.

I hope each of you have a blessed Saturday!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
