From Cabinet Door.....

....to a jewelry holder!

I've been wanting to share this with y'all for quite some time....but wanted to wait until I got my bedroom painted so that I could hang this in it's final resting place.
(Final resting place sounds kinda morbid, huh?!?)

Anyway....here's a little tutorial for a jewelry hanger!!

First of all....I started out with an old cabinet door that I paid $2 for at a salvage store.....
Then....I painted it with one of my very favorite spray paints....Red Devil.
I really like how this stuff goes on so smooth!!!
Next....I did a bit of distressing by sanding down the edges.

I bought several packets of cup hooks at the dollar store for a  buck each....

I didn't get a picture of what I did next....but hubby let me use a little hand held push drill to start the hole to screw the cup hooks into the door....
....and....here's the final result!!!
I tacked a pretty ribbon to match our  bedroom onto the back....tied it together at the top....hung it onto a decorative hook....and there you have it....a place to hang all those necklaces and earrings and bracelets....that otherwise just get piled up in a drawer....well, that's what happens to mine anyway!!!

Here's a close-up view....

One thing I would advise....when you pick out your old door....you might want to get a softer wood, maybe like pine.  This one is oak and it was very hard on my fingers to screw those cup hooks in...but one thing's for sure....they're not goin' anywhere!

Happy Friday, sweet blogging friends!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  5. This looks great! I made a jewelry holder for my inexpensive stuff the end of June. I used a scrap from an old window. I painted it and used white cup hooks. LOL Great minds....
