Wearing my helmet!!!

How do you like my new headgear?
I've decided that this is what I'm going to start wearing all the time.  That way, all unwanted thoughts will be kept from entering my mind.  And, If I cover up the ear holes, then I won't have to listen to the things that the world is throwing at me.  And, while I'm at it, I think I'll also put on some blinders.....so I'll be unable to see, or read, things that are upsetting....that can hinder my walk with the Lord.

Yeah.....I believe this is the way to go, don't you....
....to just completely shut ourselves off from the outside world.

Don't you  wish it were that easy?
We would probably be seeing people everywhere with a football helmet on their heads!!!

But, that's not reasonable at all, is it?

There's really only one way to guard our minds....and that's with God's Word!!!  If we make ourselves more and more familiar with the Bible.....a verse of scripture will come to mind at just the right time to fit whatever situation we are in.  And, if all else fails....we can always just say....out loud if need be...."Get thee behind me, Satan"!!!

That's why I really am wearing my helmet....
....the helmet of salvation!!!
I'll protect my mind with the assurance that God has saved me....and given me eternal life....and keep on looking for answers in His Word!!!

Ephesians 6:17
Put on salvation as your helmet,
and take the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
Happy Thursday, Sweet Reader!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. This made me think of Philippians 4:7 - God's salvation establishes peace with God - peace that "guards our...minds"! "Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

  2. This is great! I could use protection from thoughts sometimes too. I like a cartoon of Maxine that says..."Don't believe everything you think!"

  5. Your picture is great! If we wear helmets then it wouldn't matter how messy my hair is...lol

On the serious side though, the scriptures and good lyrics can so easily replace the bad things that come along the way.
