Kicking it up a notch!!!

(my own image....our NLT Study Bible....my coffee mug!!)

I recently did the 40 day study "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.  As a friend and I talked about the book, she said that it was really just the basics that all CHRISTians should already be aware of.  Well....that made me feel a tad "guilty" because I got A LOT out of it.  Then....the following verse of scripture was in one of my daily e-mails this week....

So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again.
Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding.
Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.
Hebrews 6:1 (NLT)

I do believe the Lord is asking me to kick it up a notch.  I'm not altogether sure what that means....but I think I'm ready
(notice I said "think"....prayers, please!!!)

HOPE you have a wonderful Wednesday,
Sweet Reader!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  2. Oh Deb, as I read your post this morning, I thought of my own posting and how that God desires for us to continually grow in him...Basics is the courtyard experience, there is a Holy Place and there is the Holy of Holies..pressing toward the Mark of the prize of the High Calling...God wants us to continue to grow in a separation from the things of this world, from our own personal delights and deeds to discover a new separated life unto HIM....how incredibly awesome! Once again it appears He has us on the same path of the journey to His Heart! See ya there my dear friend!

  3. Don't dabble in doubts about what the Lord is asking of you! It sounds like He's given you some direction. He never calls us to something He won't give us the power to do.

I needed this nudge to keep moving UPward myself. Thanks!

  4. I enjoy Rick Warren very much and find I too need to hear the basics once in awhile maybe just in a different way or perspective? God seems to be shaking things up for you a bit...I have felt the same way as He has patiently been teaching me about worry and fear the past year. Slow learner :) God loves us so much he just does not want to leave us where we are, but help us grow to be more like Him!
    Exciting and....scary...
