Wednesday Words!

Producing "fruit" used to really confuse me.  It was like I thought that God was keeping some kind of huge scoreboard and would put a star...or a big black X....beside my name, depending on how good, or bad I had been!!!
(which was very immature because my "righteousness" is as filthy rags to Him....so I could NEVER be "good" enough by anything I would attempt to do on my own)
As I've grown older, I realize that the fruits of a CHRISTian have nothing to do with what I do for HIM....but have everything to do with what HE produces in me because I belong to HIM!!

Things like....
love and joy....
(remember that someone might be able to take your happiness....but not your joy)
peace....
(peace that we cannot explain, especially when we're in the middle of troubles and trials)
patience....
(just don't ask for it....cause "tribulation worketh patience"....a tough lesson to learn)
kindness....
(even when it can be soooo difficult)
goodness....
(the only good thing in me is HIM)
faithfulness....
gentleness....
and self-control....
(maybe You could give me an extra couple of doses of this one, precious Lord....for my physical appetite....and also to allow me to bite my tongue more often!!!)
;-)

So how about you, Sweet Reader....
....what "fruits" are being produced in you?!?!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Dank je wel/thank you. I do not see much fruit, but the way you approach I think is God's way and put everything in a different light. Thanks for this great posting.

  2. The LORD has me in a season of pruning...it seems that my mind is void of posting ..it all seems so personal right now as an intimate interaction between the Lord and me. I go to my blog and I feel "void" of what to post ...so I rest and when I feel the freedom to do so, I do ...until then I patiently wait ..ahhhhh the fruit of patience ... ! :)

I, too, used this same verse today and also have Jeremiah 29:11 as my blog header verse!! Have a wonderfully blessed day!!

  4. The Lord is working with me on patience, or as I learned from a sweet lady at church-long suffering. I think he is also trying to work on my self control, but I keep fighting that one.
