Accidentally.....

.....on purpose!!!

If you've followed me here at Jeremiah 29:11 for very long,
then you know that one of my favorite expressions is....
"it's not odd, it's GOD!!!"

Many years ago when I taught a SONday school class, Pappy printed that saying off and taped it to the podium in our classroom.  I wish I had kept track of all the "it's not odd, it's God" moments over the years....but I want to share a few with y'all that some might see as being an "accident"....but I believe our God had a "purpose" in what happened.

Several times since I quit my full-time job I've prayed and asked God to let me know if HE wants me to return to work. I had prayed that prayer one morning and as I read my devotional, it was about a lady who had been wondering if she should return to work....the Holy Spirit convinced her that staying at home was what HE wanted of her.  Well, that totally answered my prayer....but....as I sat down to read my devotional the next morning, I discovered that I had skipped ahead a day.
Was it an accident?
Not at all!!!
It was in God's plan....and it was HIS purpose....that I read that devotional on that very day!!!

Pappy found out he was loosing his job on February 26th of this year....as I sat down to spend my time with HIM on Monday morning, the scripture reference caught my eye first....because it was Jeremiah 29:11.
The title was "Fear of the Future"....and it was about a woman whose husband was loosing his job.
An accident?
No way!!!

When my Mom was in ICU after her heart attack, I spent a lot of time in the ICU lounge when I wasn't back with her.  There were several "Upper Room" devotionals lying on the desk and the receptionist told me I could take one.  A few mornings ago, out of curiosity....I flipped back to read the devotional for October 9th, the day we took Mom to the ER and discovered she was having a heart attack....
 Coincidence....accident....
....or....
....accidentally on purpose?!?!
;-)

 Psalm 57:2
I cry out to God Most High,
to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.

Ain't God good?
Oh, yes HE most certainly is!!!

In HIS Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  3. Just like I accidently on purpose found your blog today.

"For me this feeling came at the unexpected loss of my father several years ago."

I lost my father on the 3rd of this month, but that is one of the many heartaches experienced this last 2 years. Its been a long season of heartache, and I'm ready for it to be over. I'm ready for sunshine. I am to the point where I am begging God to just return and take me home. I'm tired.

  9. I have to wonder myself from time to time about returning the workforce. I found a job 2 months after leaving a abusive marriage but lost it (job) after the birth of my little precious baby. I went to school for Medical Assisting and took a Doula workshop. Still without work though it seems like God's way for me. God has provided for us and continues to pave the way with his light! God bless!

  10. I am so happy to have read your posts today. I have always told my children when such accidents happen it had to be Gods will. Now I have a better way to say it. I will try to use this with my grandchildren. Now following with GFC I will be back to read more.
