Do....or don't?!?

I recently read a question about which is more difficult to obey....when God says, "do"....or, when He says, "don't"?  I've said many times that my life would be so much easier if God would just give me a complete list of "do's" and "don't's"....instead of that "free will" stuff!!!  With each and every little question that arises, I could just take out my trusty list from HIM.....and see if whatever I need to know is on the "do" side, or in the"don't" column!!!

But, that's not life....and the best we can do is ask our precious Lord and Savior for discernment to make the right choices.  One of my favorite Bible verses was quoted to me several years ago by a pastor I was talking with....

I Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion,
but of peace....

If I am struggling with a situation that causes me to be confused, or upset....then, the only way that I'm able to handle it is to back off....pray....search scripture....and ask God to help me to better understand what's going on and why I'm not at peace.   This happened several months ago, and He led me to some information that helped me better understand why I was having that "uh-oh" feeling....that uneasiness in my spirit.  The insight that I gained going thru that trying time helped me to better understand myself....and how God speaks to me personally....and HOPEfully will help me with the next problem that arises!!!

Because we all know....there will be a "next time"!!!

How 'bout you, Sweet Reader?
Do you have a sure-fire method of knowing that God is speaking to you?

In HIS Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Morn Deb, my prayer of late has been "I want to see God in whatever circumstance, situation or people I am in them midst of"...and then regardless of the pain or pleasure of it, Bless, Praise, Thank Him and Glorify Him....and I have discovered as I set forth in this loving surrender I find answeres: Be Blessed! Pray mom is still recovering gloriously!

  2. First of all, that picture is perfect for your topic and so cute!

Usually, the Lord lets me step into the dark before He gives me a feeling of whether I'm heading in the right direction or not.

For example, CL and I have been praying to know if we should sell our big home out in the country and move to a smaller home closer to his work and the kids school...no answer, so we know we're to just go ahead and put our home on the market...After this we'll know...

I agree with you, that it would be easier if the Lord just would answer yes or no from the start! But I KNOW He will not let me do anything that is wrong without giving me a warning!
