I find it very difficult to ask for prayer for myself.
I usually wait until I'm sinking to break down and admit that I need my friends....that includes you all....to pray for me!!! I realize....as much as I don't like admitting it....it has to do with "spiritual pride". Recently at our small group meeting when it was my time to ask for prayer....of course, my request was for my Mom. When pressured to ask for a specific prayer for myself....it was for strength. That's been my prayer for quite some time....that God would give me HIS strength to get thru some difficulties that we have encountered, especially this year. Without going into specific details....some of the struggles included dealing with the insurance company, health scares, Mamaw's death, leaving our church family, finding out something that I know God wanted me to know....but it was difficult to learn and cope with (still is)....more health problems, family issues, my Mom's heart attack....and Pappy's job loss. Most of them, just by themselves were things we could deal with....but as they seemed to pile on top of one another....well, I realized just how much I needed STRENGTH!!!
But....thru it all....I've found a peace that I told our group leader only comes from knowing God.
He is my Strength!!!

Hello Deb, I was always a giver and found it difficult to receive. Then a Christian friend rebuked me. She said, "When you give to someone you receive a blessing. So you must let others give to you so that they may also receive."

" Oh Lord God you know Debs heart and you know how much of a giver she is. Lord now she needs strength, and more than that Lord, she needs peace and reassurance that all is going to be well. Lord please cover her with you shed blood, that comes against a multitude of probelems. I ask that you caste all sins Deb may have committed either with knowledge or without, into the deepest ocean, where I know they are remembered no more. Shine your light and love on this dear sister, and let her feel your arms around her. You Lord know the big picture and you say that ALL THINGS work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to your purpose. So I believe that much good is going to come out of what Deb has been through this past year. Thank you Lord, In Jesus name I pray. Amen." xxxxx

ReplyDeleteDeb, Looking at your 'list', I'd say you have had some extra BIG difficulties this year. The Lord must really love you. Seems He has given so many opportunities to build your strength...and speaking from my end, you have become a strong witness of the Lord and His love.
