Consider the Lillies!!!

As I mowed yesterday....yes, I actually felt like mowing....yippee....I mowed down quite a few dandelions and I was reminded of this post that I did in April of 2011 and thought it might be worth a re-post!!!

One morning last week I noticed just how many dandelions were in bloom....and how God must have had a plan for them or He wouldn't have made them so plentiful.  People try their best to keep them out of their yard, and I wonder where and why that started.    Most of the time the little yellow flowers appear in unexpected places, usually amongst beautiful lush green grass, or in a landscaping where other flowers were carefully planted.  These "weeds" weren't actually intended to grow there, at least not by man...but were placed there by our heavenly Father.

I shared with Pappy how I felt like that little dandelion so many times in my life.  How often did I suffer from low self esteem....didn't fit in....stood out like a "sore thumb"....wasn't considered worthy....not liked by some people....publicly criticized for my decisions. How many times did I feel  like that little dandelion being yanked out by it's roots when others have torn me down and talked about me?  I've seen men grind their shoes into a dandelion to try kill it.  Have you ever felt like you've been the object of being ground up and your spirit just crushed?
I know that I have.
But....being one who believes in true confessions....I've also been guilty of being the one saying, or doing, something hurtful....
....even if it was unintentional.

Our GRAND-sons like to sit on top of an old cedar chest in our sun room and look out the window.  One day the baby of the two was sitting there and he told me that he saw some pretty flowers out there.  I thought he was probably talking about the grape hyacinths that are sprinkled throughout our yard.  When I asked him what flowers, he replied....
"those pretty yellow ones".
Oh, to be so innocent and to see things through the eyes of a child....just like God does!!!

Luke 12:27
Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.  And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.
Why do you have so little faith?

Have faith....that God knows you and loves you....
....He cares for you....no matter who you are....
or, what you've done....or what others my think of you.

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  2. This is a post I think we could all reread often...Thank goodness God doesn't give up on us when we make mistakes or when others misunderstand our actions but continues to love us as the apple of His eye.....We have a wonderful and mighty God....

  3. As I drove up my long driveway home from work yesterday, I noticed all the dandelions and groaned.

Then I thought about all the bouquets that my children used to pick for me in the spring. They would always bring me a handful of beautiful bright yellow dandelions. They were so proud of themselves. And I accepted them pleased with my gift.
