Thankful Thursday!!!

I have so much to be thankful for that if I tried to start writing it all down, this post would just go on forever and you would get really bored before you got to the end!!!  So, to keep your attention....I want to share a couple of things that happened just this week.....

As most of you know, I absolutely the Journey devotional.  Since Pappy's layoff from his job, we've tried to cut expenses in a lot of ways and since my Journey is up for renewal, I told Pappy that I just didn't feel that I should renew it, which sorta hurts my heart cause I like it so much and God has spoken to me a lot in the last couple of years thru it.  Well, after making that decision.....SONday night a sweet lady at church came up to me and said that she had me something.  It was a devotional book called Jesus Calling, Enjoying Peace in HIS Presence by Sarah Young.  We've read out of this book several times at our small group meeting.  Then, on  Monday while at an appointment with my sister and niece, the nutritionist read a story to us out of Charles Stanley's In Touch magazine....which is free, all you have to do is go on-line to his site and sign up for it.

I know in my heart that God blessed me doubly because I obeyed Him and didn't renew the subscription.

Do I always listen and obey?
Uh....nope!!!

I just need to remember that when I do obey.....He sometimes has something better in store for me!!!

The lyrics to the old song "Oh, What a Savior" just popped into my head....I guess because oh what a Savior He truly is!!!

Oh, what a Savior, O Hallelujah!
His heart was broken on Calvary.
His hands were nail scarred.
His side was riven
He gave His life blood for even me!!!

Thank you, Jesus!!!

In HIS Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. There are SO many wonderful devotionals available FREE! My Utmost for His Highest can be accessed via internet, for instance. I have a hardback copy and have used it several times throughout my (long) life.

Dear Deb, we, too, are cutting back on expenses. Determined and content to live on what God has provided for us. It is such an adventure watching as God provides for all our needs. I love Him SO much.
