The Five Love Languages!!!

Edited to add a give-a-way!!!
Scroll to the bottom for details.

Last week was quite busy for me, which was why I didn't post for a couple of days.  Part of my busyness included spending HOURS working on my devotional. I tried to explain it to somebody one morning and they just  kind of passed it off, which kinda/sorta hurt my feelings.  Later on, I found out they were struggling with something, though!!

I've taken a great liking to Zig Ziglar and follow his Facebook page.
Right after this happened,  I saw the above "sign" on Facebook and knew that God was telling me that I sometimes put too much stock in what others think/say, but also that I long for the type of people in my life that  Mr. Ziglar referred to.

After reading Gary Chapman's book, "The Five Love Languages", I came to realize what my "love language" is and that I truly need people in my life to lift me up and encourage me!!!  Often when we don't understand why other people act/say/do so differently than us, or what it takes to please them, or what their expectations are....well, it's because what speaks to their heart is completely different than us!

What about you?
Do you know what your "love language" is?

1.  Words of Affirmation
2.  Quality Time
3.  Gifts
4.  Acts of Service
5.  Quality Time

In HIS Most Precious Lve....and with mine, too!!!

Blessings,
Deb

In keeping with  the theme of "love language",
I want to offer a small give-a-way.
It's a little book of 365 Love Notes.....

All you've gotta do is be a follower and leave a comment!!!
I'll announce the winner on Friday, March 1st!!!

  3. I enjoyed The Five Love Languages SO much! It really gave me insight into how I was demonstrating love to the man of the house in the way I want to be loved, rather than the way that he feels loved. Made a huge difference once I understood his language!

  4. It's kind of funny this came up! Just a week or so ago, I started to take a 30 question quiz to figure out what my "language" was but after 10 I quit. None of the choices seemed to fit. So, I'm still in the dark about what it is :)

  7. I would love to be entered for the book. I also love your post today. This is something I struggled with for over a year until I finally learned that not everybody thinks, acts or responds the same way to every situation. I have learned to celebrate our differences and to be accepting of the ways of others when they are not the same as mine. It was a long hard road with a lot of struggles but my life is so much happier now that I have accepted that.

  9. Oh Deb, I wish I had a 'reply' button on my blog! I would love to tour the Holy Lands with you and several other of my dear friends. Wouldn't it be wonderful to share that experience. I heard Zig Zigler speak some years ago and I knew he had a special gift to share. His words of encouragement are always a blessing. We have so much in common. I too always need words of affirmation and I know it comes from circumstances of my childhood. Maybe someday I will share more, just too much for this comment. Just so you know, your messages always bless me. You have a true insight to the workings of the Holy Spirit in your life and you have the ability to share them so freely. It always touches my heart. {{hugs}}
