The taste of GRACE.....

This is what grace tastes like. Lisa-Jo Baker // incourage.me

This recently showed up in my Inbox and you know what caught my attention, don't you?
Yep.....
that word GRACE!!!
(you can click on the little (in)courage picture to read the article)

I thought it would be interesting to list a few ways we can show grace to others.....
since that's the least we can do for what God does for us every.single.day!!!

Look for the needs of others

We never know what kind of day somebody might be having,
so something as small as holding the door,
or offering a compliment to a cashier.....
they might just make that person's day that they were even noticed.

Respond with grace

Oh, how difficult this can be sometimes.....
or, is that just me I'm talking about?
I often have to bite my tongue to actually "respond with  grace".....
and sometimes that means saying NOTHING.AT.ALL!

Graceful Presence

Do you know of somebody in the hospital?
Pay them a visit.
If you can't schedule that,
give them a call.....
or send a card.
Maybe there's been a death.....
be there for the family.
Send cards, take food, be at the funeral or graveside service.
Just be present!

Forgive  with grace

Has somebody offended you then came back and apologized?
Did you want to say, 'well, I'll accept this time, but'.....
Or, maybe something like 'it's about time you realized what you  did/said wrong'.....
don't say those things.....
just accept the apology and tell them they're forgiven.

Learn to say "I'm sorry"

As well as forgiving others,
we often have to ask for forgiveness.
As difficult as it can be to swallow our pride.....
just do it because both you and the other person will feel so much better afterward!

Mind your manners

Remember those manners your Momma taught you?
That lesson was for a reason!
Use words like "please" and "thank you".

Take an interest in others

There's just something about somebody speaking my name and saying something personal to me.  Maybe they remembered something that I said, or did, and I didn't even realize they were listening at the time.
I want to be that person.
Somebody who is TRULY interested in others and what they're saying to me.
At my age, I often have to tell myself to FOCUS because often my mind can be elsewhere.
I desire to be that friend who others know they can count on and confide in.
I want to be an encourager because I know how much it means to me to be encouraged!!!

If you haven't already, be sure and watch the movie, "The Grace Card".
It's simply awesome and is a great teaching tool.....
even for us older folk.....
about the true meaning of showing grace to our fellow man.....
and woman!

  1. Love this post today! Awe yes...GRACE...we do not deserve do we? So glad our Lord extends His daily grace to me. I try hard to show grace to others but there are days I must admit that I find myself in my own little world and then the Lord uses things (such as your blog today) to remind me of GRACE! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

    1. Oh, I don't always show grace, either. I do try, but sometimes I just plain old want "my way"! OUCH!
